I did like the first Episode with Tristan Zimmerman quite a lot (but the comments there are not open anymore). By chance a friend mine an me stubeled upon another big advantage of historical settings: People, who are not so much into RPGs tend to know enough about the setting. This makes a first entrance into RPGs or a new System a bit easier, because you don’t have to explain the system and the setting to them. Especially ancient Rome and Greek are great Settings, because people learn about that in school and there are quite a few movies.
Glad you enjoyed the episode!
