Prolific film and TV director David Winning joins me on the podcast to discuss his career, filmmaking, and TV industry. David has directed episodes of Earth: Final Conflict, Gene Roddenberry’s Andromeda, Stargate Atlantis, Van Helsing as well as many feature films and movies of the week.

Great interview! David Winning has been the director attached to my independent sci-fi feature project since the 90’s but I haven’t been able to raise the money so it’s been stuck in development hell. Originally, Steve Bacic from Andromeda was going to star but I’m probably going to have to recast because he’s now out-aged the role.
I’m still working to get the film off the ground and hopefully David will still be able to direct when I reach that point. But it’s been tough. The financing part is the huge filmmaking obstacle that you’re constantly chipping away at. And I’m not in L.A. or Vancouver so it’s harder. Right now, I’m hoping to raise enough money to shoot a proof-of-concept for the film.
