Dungeons and Dragons 1e or Advanced Dungeons and Dragons is perhaps the most iconic edition of the role-playing game. Now, all the PDFs of the 1e D&D books are available.

Around the time AD&D was published, Dungeons and Dragons became a household name. A Saturday morning cartoon would follow plus a nearly unending stream of controversies propelled D&D into popular culture.

AD&D or D&D 1e was published along with Basic D&D apparently because of some intra-company shenanigans. But no matter the origin Advanced D&D was meant to be TSR’s flagship brand.
